who we are
Communication – the human connection – is the key to personal and career success.
— Paul J. Meyer
We don’t fight human nature.
Humans feel. There are no metrics that accurately measure the range and depth of how we feel. In the prevailing world of brand building, inbound marketing, messaging, and content creation, the pendulum swings between the emotional and the analytical. It boils down to a one-or-the-other choice in approach between the heart and the numbers.
We don’t believe in fighting against human composition. We engage it. We don’t merely feel our way through the process without data. We mobilize it.
At Shaston Writes, we aim to build brands that solve problems and connect to humans heart-to-heart. It’s the way communities, tribes, and nations have been built since the beginnings of human civilization. It’s how our species has thrived. We figure if it works for our species, it’ll work for your business.
To help gutsy people transform their business vision into a tangible brand entity built on the foundation of their God-given gifts, talents, and abilities – empowering them to work and live life on their terms.
We want to build a world marketplace restored to simplicity — in which humans can harness their personal assets, organically create their own work, take pride and joy in what they do, and do it with integrity.
We care about …
Our goal is to provide you with the tools to claim your freedom to live and work as you choose.
We’re committed to helping you discover and develop all of your marketable assets.
We promise to give you our best so we can bring out the best in you and your brand.
We’re committed to doing the right and ethical thing in good conscience, in all that we do.
We amplify your brand’s “je-ne-sais-quoi” that distinguishes you from the crowd
We arm you with the tools and playbook to take your brand to next-level success.
It’s my job to use my superpowers to help you discover and ignite yours.
I started out as a journalist and broadcast news field producer, so I’ve written for television, radio, and print. After I burned out from the newsroom, I went to film school. I wanted to make a difference by producing documentaries (and short fiction) that inspire people.
My life took a different turn in 2012 when I had a long conversation with the woman who became my business coach. I discovered that my decades in broadcast and print gave me tools I didn’t know I had: brand creation.
That’s also when Shaston Writes was born. I started out writing content for entrepreneurs and small businesses. True to my teaching nature, I was coaching them as well — crafting their brand identities, strengthening their market position, and sculpting their distinctive brand images so they reflect the heart of their brands’ core values. Boom! New revelation: I give people the tools they need to succeed on their own terms! Mic drop. It’s the kind of work that gets me going in the morning. There’s no better cup of Joe!
