Sharon Shelton Corpening

I started out as a journalist and broadcast news field producer, so I’ve written for television, radio, and print. After I burned out from the newsroom, I went to film school. I wanted to make a difference by producing documentaries (and short fiction) that inspire people.

My life took a different turn in 2012 when I had a long conversation with the woman who became my business coach. I discovered that my decades in broadcast and print gave me tools I didn’t know I had: brand creation.

That’s also when Shaston Writes was born. I started out writing content for entrepreneurs and small businesses.  True to my teaching nature, I was coaching them as well — crafting their brand identities, strengthening their market position,  and sculpting their distinctive brand images so they reflect the heart of their brands’ core values. Boom! New revelation: I give people the tools they need to succeed on their own terms! Mic drop. It’s the kind of work that gets me going in the morning. There’s no better cup of Joe!
